Opportunities for students

Careers Consultants at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Careers are available to advise all ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students.

International students  

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Careers has an International Student Group. They manage a programme to support international students at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº.  

There are events online and in person. They cover topics like working in the UK as an international student.  

These events also cover making the most of a ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº degree back home. Additionally, there are opportunities to hear from alumni.  

The International Student Group keeps a data dashboard. It shows which employers sponsored international students before.

Careers Fair…

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº has a careers consultant for each department, who plans special activities.

my¹û¶³Ó°ÔºCareers is an online jobs board for the university. It promotes jobs, work experience, and internships.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Talent Bank

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Talent Bank connects students with employers who want to hire ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students for internships or jobs.  

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Careers offers support through the application and interview process.

The Careers Group (TCG)

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº is part of .  

They conduct research on graduates and the job market. They also find more jobs to add to the shared job board for member colleges.  

Sometimes, TCG organizes inter-college events and activities that ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº students can attend.  

Hundreds of potential employers visit ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº every year. Students can meet employers at events like:

  •     careers fairs,  
  •     employer presentations,
  •     sector insight events, and more.
  •     Business and business leadership

Business and leadership

Students can learn the basics of modern business in free, three-day boot camps.

Guest lectures by seasoned entrepreneurs and investors give students insights into business and entrepreneurship.

Global Citizenship Programme

The enterprise strand of the Global Citizenship Programme allows students to work in teams to create their own socially responsible enterprises to tackle global social problems.

    Graduate-specific opportunities

    Career advice, access to events and opportunities are available to graduate students up to three years after graduation. This includes practice interviews for PhD-specific appointments.

    PhD researchers

    Career development programmes for PhD researchers.  

    This includes:

    •     a Consulting Skills week to take on real-life business problems, and  
    •     Leadership Skills courses to analyse leadership roles in academia and business.

    ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff

    ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff can access training courses, resources, and opportunities through the Organisational Development programme.

    Get funding  

    ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff can access funding for innovation and enterprise, to promote knowledge exchange and to help engagement with the wider world.
