Join us at the Bloomsbury Theatre for the second event in our Disagreeing Well public series - Disagreeing Well in an online world. 听The event brings together a highly acclaimed panel of speakers, chaired by Ayesha Hazarika, broadcaster and Times Radio presenter. The panel will discuss the impact that social media platforms have on our society, and how we can better communicate with people who hold very different views to our own. The event will examine the rise of misinformation online and the damage it can cause, as well as the opportunities that communicating online can bring.

Disagreeing Well is about how we live together as a community in which there are many differences of opinion, often deeply held and personally felt. 听

Disagreeing Well is an essential life skill that brings enormous benefits to individuals and society. 听By approaching disagreements with respect, curiosity and a desire to find common ground, we can nurture understanding听and solve shared problems.听

This series of events seeks to explore what is required to help people to Disagree Well. Looking across different topics from 鈥榙isagreeing in the online world鈥� to 鈥榙isagreeing in public life鈥�, a diverse range of speakers will share their insight, knowledge and personal experiences about how we can learn to disagree well, and reflect upon what happens when we do not. 听

This event will include discussions about complex topics and themes, with audience participation and debate. Whilst under 18鈥檚 are welcome, they must attend with an adult who understands the nature of this event.

Ayesha Hazarika
Broadcaster and Times Radio presenter
Broadcaster, comedian and writer Ayesha is known for her insightful and witty opinions, and her informed observations on current affairs and politics.
Host of the Weekend Drivetime show on Times Radio every Saturday and Sunday, where she dissects the news and events across Westminster and beyond with a plethora of interesting and engaging guests, Ayesha is also a regular contributor on Question Time (BBC Two), Good Morning Britain (ITV), The Jeremy Vine Show (C5), The News Quiz (Radio 4), Lorraine (ITV), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Richard Osman鈥檚 House Of Games (BBC Two), and Breaking The News (Radio Scotland).

Dr Kaitlyn Regehr
Associate Professor and the Deputy Programme Director of Digital Humanities in the Department of Information Studies at 果冻影院
Dr Kaitlyn Regehr is an Associate Professor and the Deputy Programme Director of Digital
Humanities at 果冻影院, and a leading voice on the cultural impacts of social media, particularly on children and youth. She is regularly called on to speak on these themes for BBC News, BBC Women鈥檚 Hour, Channel 4 and the Economist. Her research has informed legislation on children鈥檚 safety online including the Online Harms Bill and the new Cyberflashing legislation, and she has consulted in the House of Lords, and Members of Parliament, the Metropolitan Police, Scottish Government, and听Prevent. She also consults on digital citizenship education for Education Scotland and schools across England.
Inaya Folarin Iman
Journalist and Founder of The Equiano Project
Inaya Folarin Iman is a broadcast journalist and contributing editor at the Daily Mail.
She is the Founder and Director of The Equiano Project, a forum to promote freedom of speech and open dialogue on the subjects of race, identity and culture.听
She is the Cultural Management and Youth Engagement Trustee for the National Portrait Gallery and is a panellist on the moral and ethical BBC Radio 4 programme Moral Maze.听
Gina Miller
Leader of True and Fair Party and Co-Founder of SCM Direct and MoneyShe
Gina Miller is a dynamic businesswoman, activist and now, UK political party leader. She co-founded SCM Direct in 2009 as a democratising, modern wealth management company with values rooted in honesty, fairness and transparency to counter issues in the sector that contributed to poor consumer outcomes and the Global Financial Crisis 2007/8.听
Gina鈥檚 campaigning has led to successful campaigning on issues as diverse as modern-day slavery, domestic violence, special needs, inequality, social justice, and online abuse. Her work in the charity sector over the last 20 years has helped improve governance, sustainability and safeguarding.
Gina published her memoir 鈥楻ise: Life Lessons in Speaking Out, Standing Tall & Leading the Way.鈥� Also most recently, Gina launched a new political party, the True & Fair Party, with the strap 鈥榳e deserve better鈥� which will focus on cleaning up politics and electoral reform, and sustainable, pragmatic policy making.
Shreiya Singh

Shreiya Singh is a third-year History student at 果冻影院 (果冻影院) and is passionate about cultivating vibrant debates and embracing multifaceted viewpoints. With a background in public speaking, debating, and Model United Nations, she brings valuable skills to her role as President of 果冻影院鈥檚 TEDx Society, where she is dedicated to promoting a platform for the exchange of diverse perspectives and compelling ideas.
