Applications and Interviews 2023-24

UCAS applications for 2024 entry (or deferred entry for 2025) must be received by 18.00 (UK time) on 16th October 2023. We are not able to consider late applications. All applicants also need to apply to sit the Biomedical Admissions Test being held on 18th October 2023.Ìý

We will initially review applications to ensure they meet our minimum academic entry requirements as outlined in our prospectus. Then, following receipt of BMAT scores in November, we will begin inviting candidates to interview.Ìý

Each year, we normally interview between 800-1000 applicants and will send invitations on a rolling basis from December 2023 through to March 2024. When you receive your invitation does not indicate a priority in terms of your application. We do ask that applicants let us know as soon as possible, if they will be unavailable for any of the dates indicated below (for any reason). It is unlikely that we are able to rearrange interview dates once sent.Ìý

Provisional interview dates for home applicants are as follows:

  • 18th and 19th December 2023
  • 3rd, 4th, 8th, 10th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th,Ìý30th and 31stÌý January 2024
  • 12th, 13th, 14th, 26th and 27th February 2024
  • 4th and 5th March 2024

International applicants:

  • 12th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 26th January 2024
  • 2nd February 2024

BMAT 2024 cycle

Both the registration deadline and the test date are earlier than in previous years. The 2023 sitting for the 2024 cycle will be the last sitting as the BMAT is being withdrawn from 2024.

After the 2024 cycle, BMAT will no longer be offered. For applicants wishing to apply in October 2024 for 2025 entry and beyond, we will be accepting the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) as our admissions test. Further details regarding application and test dates can be found on the

Visiting ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Medical School

The teaching for medical students takes place at a variety of campus locations and that there is no specific single building to visit. It is therefore not possible to offer individual department visits for Medicine.Ìý

Visiting ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº in person

Prospective students who are interested in applying to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº and would like to visit the main campus before making an application are advised to first consider attending one of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Open DaysÌýor to sign up for a student-guided campus tour.Ìý

If no guided tours are available on dates that you find convenient, it is possible to undertake the self-guided tour on any weekday.Ìý

GMC Provisional Registration

Graduates from UK Medical Schools must have provisional registration with a licence to practise before they start their first year of the Foundation Programme (F1).
