Description

The module is designed to be developed collaboratively with conservation teams in selected cultural institutions, who will provide groups of students with ‘real-world’ problems in the conservation of their time-based media or contemporary material collections. Challenges will work as trigger material for the development of a collaborative research project, where students will have to negotiate roles and ways of working within and outside their group. They will be able to engage with the conservation team at selected collections – or, otherwise, engage with paradigmatic case-studies from the literature - advancing their critical appraisal skills and conservation practice while participating in the development of integrated conservation strategies in the museum.Ìý
