Description

This module takes the form of an intensive 3-day masterclass that will provide you with a detailed update and discussion of the current scientific understanding of auditory processing disorders, language and cognition and their interaction across the age spectrum within both a scientific and clinical context.

  1. To provide a scientific understanding of auditory processing in individuals with an auditory processing developmental or cognitive disorder.
  2. To provide the theoretical knowledge required to assess, investigate and manage patients with a range of hearing/listening complaints in the presence of auditory processing, language, cognitive disorders and hearing loss.
  3. To provide an understanding of the specific needs of both children and adults with these disorders, with some illustrative case studies.
  4. To provide an update on relevant current research in basic neuroscience and translational clinical applications.

This is an optional module in the MSc / PG diploma Advanced Audiology pathways.
