Description

The module is focused on developing biological knowledge, as well as key skills required for scientific investigation, and formulating best practice for data collection and recording. Key importance will be given to safe working, risk assessment and bio-containment of organisms.
Students are also supported to learn good laboratory practice and trained on key pieces of laboratory equipment.
Additionally, students will be introduced to environmental monitoring, analysis and simulations. The project will be assessed via documentation of laboratory protocols, risk assessments and presentation of results.
