Description

The Cancer Research Proposal module introduces you to the fundamental research skills required for a scientific research career. Learning in the module will require you to look at published papers and grant applications and consider how to define hypotheses and research aims, how to plan and control experiments, and how to evaluate data quality and apply basic statistical approaches to data interpretation. You will practice presenting scientific information for different audiences. The module will also help you consider research ethics and integrity, and health and safety requirements for research activities. You will then apply these skills to interpret published data and use this to develop a novel hypothesis and experimental strategy which you will present as a poster and oral pitch.
