Description

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº is a hub of dementia research in the UK. The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Division of Psychiatry is a major contributor to ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s dementia research portfolio with a particular emphasis on psycho-social aspects of dementia. This optional single module will showcase dementia related research being carried out by current and former members of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Division of Psychiatry. Students will gain a broad overview of what is known and what needs to be known about dementia and will be introduced to a range of research methodologies, spanning biological, psychological and social approaches.

The module will provide the foundations for students to embark on dementia research and to undertake the advanced dementia MSc module as well as informing clinical practice.

The course will be taught over 8 half day sessions, accompanied by Moodle online materials and relevant sessions in the MSc journal club.
