Description

The module will provide you with an understanding of the principles of building systems fundamental components and subsystems. Topics related to energy generation systems (boilers, chillers, heat pumps, etc.) and energy distribution systems (ducts/pipes and fans/pumps) will be addressed. You will be introduced to the science and engineering of key building systems components such as heat exchangers, filters, zone terminal units as well as components integrated in the building fabric such as underfloor heating, chilled ceilings and integrated photovoltaics. The performance of building systems fundamental components and subsystems at both full-load and part-load operation will also be discussed.
