Description

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº is one of the most important institutions worldwide for the development of gene therapies and their translation to the clinic, and this module will bring together experts of different technologies and approaches. The aim of this module is to provide the students with basic theoretical background in the major gene therapy technologies used for treating neurological diseases. The 5 sub-modules cover the recent genetic therapy tool used to treat CNS, and specific therapeutic approaches for a broad spectrum of neurological diseases, from epilepsy and autism to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

On successful completion of the module the students will be able to:

- Have general understanding of the state-of-the-art genetic therapies.

- Have a good knowledge of the applications, potentials and limitations of these tools.

- Have a broad overview of how these technologies are applied for treating different neurological diseases.
