Description

This module provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the full range of geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological hazards, including the mechanisms and processes involved and their potential socio-economic and environmental impacts. Topics covered include the hazards associated with earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, landslides, flooding, hurricanes, extreme weather, hazardous waste, resources, and dam and reservoir safety, as well as the cascading impacts associated with multi-hazard intersections in space and time.
