Description

The module explores global patterns of new venture creation, to identify trends and dynamics that particularly affect Chinese entrepreneurship. Within this, it examines the nature of opportunity – how do we identify, shape and fund new opportunity in a rapidly - changing business environment.

Ìý

Entrepreneurs are not born as entrepreneurs; they become entrepreneurs. How do people learn the skills, knowledge and mindset that supports new venture creation? The module looks in detail at the nature of entrepreneurship itself. What do we know about what makes a successful entrepreneur; what characteristics and traits can we identify and adopt?

Ìý

The ability to innovate is also a key driver of organizational growth. What do entrepreneurial actions mean within an organisation? How can an organisation include more entrepreneurial thinking and innovation from outside to succeed in its own strategic goals?

Ìý

The module aims to go beyond standard business teaching to uncover the often-hidden dynamics and behaviours behind successful entrepreneurship. Apart from the lectures and activities in class, we will have successful entrepreneurs sharing their lessons with us. They are global entrepreneurs. We will study their companies as case studies in class.
