Description

This module offers a broad overview of infrastructure project development, finance, and investment. By exploring the financial, economic, political, social, operational, and technological variables that influence the structure, credit attributes, and performance of complex, capital-intensive infrastructure projects, this module exposes students to the basic building blocks of infrastructure finance.

Aims:

The aim of this module is to equip you with the conceptual and technical (i.e., modelling) skills required for a specialization in infrastructure finance.

Learning objectives:

  • Expose you to the basic concepts, characteristics, and differences between corporate and project finance
  • Highlight the possibilities and constraints of different capital structures for financing infrastructure projects/investments
  • Familiarise you with factors affecting the cost of capital of infrastructure projects and their associated impacts on project appraisal/delivery
  • Develop basic financial modelling proficiency
