Description

The module aims to challenge and redifine intercultural teaching and learning through creative means. With the learner at the centre of the learning process, we discuss and experiment with concepts that have defined the field of intercultural communication and aim to rediscover intercultural 'competence' and learner identity through experimental projects. Virtual communication, film, art, artefacts, literature and collaborative pathways these facilitate, are at the centrer of our approach in order to transform the language learning experience and ensure meaningful intercultural encounters.
We experiment with a variety of authentic practices and materials that allow us to 听design a truly intercultural language teaching curriculum, while also applying and broadening theoretical and practical understandings of intercultural teaching and learning, so as to develop innovative professionals who are equipped to transform their practice.
