Description

The module focuses on global influences on business and sustainability. We consider how national and regional circumstances influence the development and adoption of new sustainable technologies – and the decline of unsustainable, technologies, processes and practices. You will gain an understanding of the key conceptual frameworks about technological innovation and socio-technical transitions to sustainability, at both national and international level – and how these frameworks help to understand the role of businesses in sustainability transitions.
Ìý
You will also understand how global circumstances and developments in natural resources, technologies, economics, justice, trade, politics and governance can influence, and be influenced by, global transitions to sustainability. You will develop key intellectual and research skills to enable you to evaluate how such factors interact within complex systems, and you will be able to apply your knowledge and skills to critically analyse and evaluate potential implications of emerging trends.
