Description

This module explores the design stage of blended and online education, with the aim to create a plan for rewarding learning experiences rooted in an understanding of learners, the learning process, teaching strategies, and the appropriate use of technology. Through activity-based learning, students will consider different design approaches and learning theories, and use specific design tools to write own learning designs for a context of their choice, from augmenting to fully replacing face-to-face interaction, alongside scholarly justifications of their decisions.

This module is aimed at educators and professionals engaged in the design of facilitated blended or online courses. The primary focus is on adult education and training, but knowledge transfer to other contexts, including schools, is possible. We recommend that participants with limited experience of blended or online learning take a short free MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on a topic of choice prior to the module.
