Description

This module is designed to introduce the essential interpreting skills and techniques in liaison and consecutive interpreting that are required to embark on a career as a professional interpreter in this particular field. It aims to maximise students’ potential to become professional interpreters by providing opportunities to practise interpreting skills in various contexts in specific language pairs. Students will then reflect on their performance in order to develop and improve their interpreting skills. The module is taught through general lectures, followed by language-specific practical seminars.Ìý

Students eligible for this module must pre-register for their preferred language combination prior to enrolment and normally before the 31st of July. SELCS/CMII will send pre-registration instructions to eligible offer holders. We cannot guarantee that any given language combination will run unless this deadline is strictly adhered to.
