Description

This module provides students with the opportunity to develop critical and transferable skills in research presentation and writing.

This module introduces students to written and spoken presentation of research findings and theoretical ideas in an academic setting in the broad field of management. It will draw on multiple formats. A series of lectures will introduce students to the inner workings of academia and the publication process, how to position one’s findings within the literature, and how to highlight their novelty and significance. Interactive discussion sessions will encourage students to reflect on the practice of academic writing, and to provide feedback to one another, with the aim of gradually refining their writing skills and continually improving their own writing practice. Students will be asked to attend to research seminars, as well as to debriefing meetings to reflect upon and discuss what makes for effective academic presentations.
