Description

This module, taught by Dr Jessica Ferm, provides a forum for students to debate contemporary planning issues with current practitioners and an opportunity to critically reflect on the practice of planning. Topics covered include the development of plans and strategies, public participation, planning gain, place-making, development management. The aim of the module is to provide the student with an appreciation of the different aspects of planning practice, with a particular emphasis on the links between theoretical concepts generalising about planning practice and the everyday experience of such practice.
