Description

‘Rehabilitation and multi-dimensional patient management’ will encourage you to integrate your knowledge and understanding of the structure and function of neuro-musculoskeletal tissues, biomechanics at tissue and whole body level and clinical medicine. This will allow you to develop a deep understanding of current physical therapy techniques and to evaluate their use in specific clinical cases and adapt treatments for individual cases. You will be taught on this module by Specialist Physiotherapists at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). The module will develop your skills in clinical reasoning and this will be covered with respect to upper and lower limb tendinopathies, joint instability, management following joint surgery, back pain, other movement disorders, peripheral nerve injury, the multiple aspects of pain management and evidence based use of exercise prescription in rehabilitation. The intended outcome is that you will be able to apply course learning to evaluate and manage complex patients using a creative multidimensional approach.

This module will be complemented by opportunities to observe clinics and attend patient management meetings and ward rounds with the Therapies Department at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
