Description

This module is focused on teaching you different research design techniques for data collection and analysis.ÌýÌý There will be exercises using a problem-based approach to provide you with opportunities to practice the various data collection approaches that you are being introduced to.

The approach to teaching is based on facilitating the application of concepts, research methods and principles to practice-related contexts and examples of research projects in the healthcare management area.Ìý This approach will be used to develop your ability to think critically about data collection and use of statistics in business and health research.

You will also be expected to work independently through readings, discussion forums to ensure appropriate grasp of the readings.

At the end of this module you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a crucial understanding and evaluation of different approaches to data collection and research design

Intellectual, Academic and Research Skills:

  • Critically appraise published research studies based on the type of data collection and research design approach used for evidencing your findings
  • Demonstrate awareness and application of ethical issues in data collection

Practical and Transferable Skills:

  • Design an approach for data collection for research
