Description

This module will introduce you to both quantitative and qualitative statistics and research methods, providing a foundation for students to effectively critically appraise scientific literature, and design research projects under supervision.

Topics will include:

  • Types of data
  • Describing data
  • Theoretical distributions
  • Data checking
  • Principles of statistics
  • Comparing groups (for different types of data)
  • Critical appraisal of scientific literature
  • Research design
