Description

This team-taught module presents core concepts in research methodology and introduces students to a range of different disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to researching North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The course explores how a range of social science and humanities methods might be applied to the study of historical, political, and social research in the Americas and reflects on common challenges encountered in research design and data collection. Lectures acquaint students with how to read, analyse, and critique diverse kinds of research, while workshops develop practical skills in research design and in data collection and analysis.
