Description

In this module you will study and apply a range of risk management techniques commonly used in the security sector (e.g. ISO31000, BS16000, CPTED). Following an introduction to systems theory, you will learn to formulate security problems (eg., sexual harassment, fraud, organised crime, terrorism, hybrid threat, etc.), and select appropriate risk modelling techniques (eg., stakeholder mapping, crime scripting, attack-defence trees, etc.) to identify, analyse, evaluate and treat security risks. Focused on employability, this module uses a mix of online materials (videos, articles, quizzes), real-world examples and project-based tutorials to help you develop competencies that are sought after by employers. Note: ‘Simulation for Research’ and ‘Intelligence Gathering and Analysis’ ideally complement this module.
