This module aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of secure computer systems and networks, emphasizing practical knowledge in the areas of network security, cryptography, privacy technologies, and ethical considerations.

Topics Covered:

- Network Security: Principles and practices for securing computer networks.

- Network Security Protocols: Examination of commonly used security protocols in networks.

- Cryptography: Basics of encryption and decryption methods for secure communication.

- Security Attacks: In-depth analysis of various security attacks, including DoS attacks, BotNets, malware, and viruses.

- Privacy in the Internet and Data Security: Exploration of privacy challenges and data security in the context of the Internet.

- Privacy Enhancing Technology: Focus on emerging technologies like Differential Privacy and solutions at the edge for enhanced privacy.

- Security and Privacy in AI: Examination of security and privacy considerations in artificial intelligence applications.

- Regulation and Ethics: Discussion on legal regulations and ethical considerations related to computer security and privacy.
