Description

1. To give students an in-depth understanding of contemporary theories of security;

2. To develop an advanced understanding of the relationship between the contemporary theory and practice of security, built on understanding the changing mature of security concepts and their relationship with security policies as formulated in different historical and political contexts;

3. To develop students' understanding of the changing mature and role of state action in security affairs;

4. To give students the conceptual tools and analytical skills for the empirical study of security issues and policies;

5. To promote and improve and improve students' presentation and discursive skills.
