This module is compulsory for students taking MSc Light and Lighting. This module can also be taken by up to three PhD students subject to there being spaces available. You will need to have some prior knowledge or experience of lighting, you should therefore contact the Module Leader to discuss your background and motivation before formally selecting the module. Places will be confirmed at the discretion of the Module Leader and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please note that we may only be able to confirm these spaces towards the end of the module selection period.

Description

This module will explore the evolution of lighting design and technologies over time, to give you a full understanding of the historical context of current Lighting Design Practice. It will address how design approaches have been influenced by the technology of the time.
