Description
The thesis workshops provide an opportunity for all students in the thesis stage of their EdD to explore key issues and concerns about the research process in a supportive peer community. The great majority of the topics listed will be looked at in connection with analysing specific sections of previous thesis candidates鈥� work. On occasion, contributions from recently successful candidates, talking about their own EdD journeys are presented.
Additionally, the workshops will:
- Provide regular opportunities for participants to informally present their 鈥榳ork in progress鈥�, and to benefit from constructive criticism by peers and a tutor who is a very experienced supervisor. This particular activity can be viewed as an important component in developing your confidence in talking about your research and, in the traditional phrasing 鈥榙efending your thesis鈥�; in other words, you will essentially be preparing for the challenge of your viva.
- On demand, address issues around such important practical elements of the thesis stage as the contribution of the Independent Reader.
The thesis workshops are optional but strongly encouraged.
