This module examines a range of methods of data collection and generation, including interview, observation, documentary and survey methods. Students will explore the relationship between research design and research practice, and the process of knowledge construction through method. The methodological issues in each method will be examined through real-world examples, and students will use their own research interests do develop sensitivity regarding the dialogue research design and research practice. The module will also examine the process of research dissemination and the different ways that research is written and presented, from conferences, journals, to social media and forms of community engagement.
