Description

Summary

This module offers health professionals the opportunity to acquire academic credit for learning gained from specific educational activity undertaken related to the workplace. Through the process of critical enquiry, the work based project will aim to facilitate you to develop an aspect of your professional practice or a particular aspect of a healthcare service based on stakeholder needs assessment.

You will be assigned an academic supervisor who will provide tutorial support. Through the process of critical reflection and needs analysis, you will develop a work based project proposal. Feedback will be provided on the initial proposal and then you will undertake the project with the support of your tutor. This approach to learning maps directly to the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Connected Curriculum, whereby skills of critical inquiry and links to the workplace are overtly addressed.

Examples of the types of projects which might be undertaken include; critical review of the implementation of clinical guidelines, critical review of an outcome measure or new technique and plans for implementation, clinical audit and recommendations for service development, justification and implementation of a procedure or different way of working to address issues of safety or quality.

  1. Identify and critically justify a healthcare professional practice or service development based on stakeholder needs
