TSR won the coveted 'London Market Innovation of the Year' award for their online Tropical Storm Tracker system. The system was developed to allow insurers and risk managers more accurate forecasting of potential losses and claims from tropical storm damage throughout the world.

The project, led by Dr Mark Saunders (Space & Climate Physics), was singled out by the judges as a "service that was innovative, relevant and unquestionably an asset to the London market".

The Tropical Storm Tracker provides real-time data as well as forecasts up to five days in advance. The forecasts are updated every 6-12 hours and provide information on storm position, strength, track, track uncertainty and spatial wind fields for all active tropical cyclone systems worldwide.
