Summer storytelling at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology

Children will have the chance to learn about ancient Egyptian life and culture through a series of summer events run by the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.
On 17 June, children aged seven and above can take up a 'Story Challenge', exploring the museum through stories woven around the artefacts and the life of Flinders Petrie, who uncovered many of the museum's treasures. On 15 and 22 July, five to nine year-olds can take part in National Archaeology Week, learning about cats, crocodiles and other Nile 'tails' through interactive stories. The season will culminate on 5 and 26 August when children aged seven or more will have the chance to 'Act like an Egyptian', getting hands-on experience of ancient Egyptian crafts and mummification rituals.
