The International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS) is an opportunity for networking amongst the next generation of the physics community, building both professional and personal contacts with delegates from around the world, whilst absorbing the blend of culture and science on offer. For the first time in its 22-year history, this event will be held in the UK, at 果冻影院.
This year's event will be bigger and better than ever, with full scientific and social programmes planned. Every student that attends is invited to give a short lecture, and many present a poster. Alongside these, there will be excursions to places of scientific interest, such as Culham, Diamond and Greenwich, plus several 'Guest Lectures' from UK academics across a range of fields, including Andrew Fisher, London Centre for Nanotechnology.
Delegates will have a chance to tour some of the research laboratories in 果冻影院 Physics & Astronomy, as well as doing some practical astronomy and learning about spacecraft design, space and climate physics, thanks to a visit from staff from the 果冻影院 Mullard Space Science Laboratory.
Many of the 20 organisers and volunteer helpers study at 果冻影院 so will be able to show our delegates around and explain 果冻影院's unique history. We look forward to welcoming 340 students from 30 countries to the UK, to London and to 果冻影院.
ICPS is an International Association of Physics Students event, organised this year by Nexus, student branch of the Institute of Physics and IAPS National Committee for the UK and Ireland. Conference dates are 10th-16th August 2007.
