The delegation was headed by Professor Nguyen Xuan Vang, President of Hanoi University and included representatives of the Government of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the South East Asian Ministers of Education Organisation.

Discussions centred on potential future research collaborations between ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº and Vietnamese universities, which are most likely to develop in the areas of biomedical and life sciences, and in engineering.ÌýÌý

During the course of their visit to the UK, the Vietnamese delegation also held discussions with the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills to support Vietnam in developing and implementing their proposed international PhD training programme.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº is supportive of the Vietnamese Government's aim to provide doctoral training programmes for selected members of staff from Vietnamese universities and will be exploring this further with the Ministry of Education and Training.
