Meeting: 'Developments in Ceramic Science and Engineering'

  • Registration has opened for a meeting to mark the 70th birthday of Professor Sir Richard Brook, Director of the Leverhulme Trust, hosted by the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Centre for Materials Research on 10 and 11 April next year.

    The meeting, 'Developments in Ceramic Science and Engineering: The last 50 years', will feature an impressive list of delegates from all over the world. Their presentations will be published in a special edition of the 'Journal of the European Ceramic Society', which will be guest-edited by Professor Mohan Edirisinghe, independent Convener of the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Centre for Materials Research. The event is sponsored by Elsevier, the journal's publisher.

    A banquet will also be held, for the conference's guest speakers and leading academics, on the evening of 10 April.

    Professor Sir Richard Brook, a renowned expert in the field of ceramics, is currently the Director of the Leverhulme Trust. He is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Materials at Oxford University and a former Chief Executive of the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council.
