  • Stephan Beck, Professor of Medical Genomics at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, has given a talk about the work of the new ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Cancer Institute at a conference in Cyprus.

The Marianna Lordos Cancer Symposium was a meeting of cancer specialists from across the world, dedicated to freely disseminating knowledge about the disease and its treatment. This year's symposium covered a broad range of topics, including cancer screening, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and the role of genetics in cancer.

The meeting was financed by the Marianna Lordos Cancer Fund, a charity established by ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº alumnus Constantinos Lordos (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Bartlett School of Architecture 1963) in memory of his late wife.

In a speech to the conference, Constantinos Lordos talked about his fond memories of the time heÌý spent at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, and his respect for cancer research at the university, expressing also the hope that the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Cancer Institute and the Marianna Lordos Foundation will remain close in the years to come in the common fight against cancer.
