¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Advanced Information Services Centre (AISC) Medical Illustration Group has brought home a raft of the Institute of Medical Illustrators' (IMI) annual awards.

The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº winners were as follows:

• Elaine Hanna, David Bishop and Andrew Gardner (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Royal Free Hospital) won the overall Graphics Prize and an IMI Gold Award for the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Medical School Guide for Prospective Students.
• David Bishop and Rakhee Bashar (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Royal Free Hospital) won an IMI Gold Award for the Royal Free NHS Trust Annual Review.
• John Volcano (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Institute of Child Health) wonÌýan IMI Gold Award and the top photographic award for his photograph of an eye condition entitled 'Morning Glory'.
• David Smithson (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Institute of Child Health) won an IMI Silver Award for Patient information for his poster 'What do our Uniform Colours Mean?'
• Joanne Webb (¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Institute of Child Health) won an IMI Bronze Award for an interactive map produced for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Jayne Noctor, Head of ¹û¶³Ó°ÔºÌýAISC Medical Illustration Services, commented: "Within ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº AISC Medical Illustration we carry out numerous photographic, video and design services. Medical Photography and video is used to record the appearance of patient's conditions before, during and after their treatment, whilst the design and illustration element provides visual information for patients, researchers and medical publications. ÌýAll the staff work extremely hard to achieve the best quality where possible and this is reflected by AISC Medical Illustration winning the top photography and design awards at the Institute of medical Illustrators award ceremony. I feel that this is a national recognition of the high standards that we aim to achieve and I am very proud of all of my staff."

The winners were announced at the 2010 IMI award ceremony.
