  • The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Public Engagement Unit has new Beacon Bursaries funding available for projects that bring the public and the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº community together.

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff and research students are invited to apply for up to £1,500 for activities that will connect their research, teaching or learning with people outside ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº

Dr Hilary Jackson from the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Public Engagement Unit explained: "This funding is a great way to connect people outside ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº with our research or teaching. It's designed to give ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº staff and research students an opportunity to test out a new idea, with support and advice from ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Public Engagement and to help extend their networks within and beyond ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº."

Beacon Bursary awards are competitive, which means applicants are required to fill in a short application form to apply. To apply and for further information, please visit the link at the top of this page.

The Beacon Bursaries are administered and supported by the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Public Engagement Unit. This unit is funded as part of the Beacons for Public Engagement initiative, funded by HEFCE, Research Councils UK and the Wellcome Trust.

Please note: The deadline for Beacon Bursary funding applications is Monday 28 February 2011.
