The results are comparable with university peers such as Oxford (55 researchers recognised), Cambridge (53) and Imperial College London (34) and represent an increase since last year, when 41 果冻影院 researchers were recognised.

果冻影院 researchers were present in nine of the 17 academic fields listed, namely: Neuroscience & Behaviour; Environment/Ecology; Space Science; Molecular Biology & Genetics; Social Sciences; Psychiatry/Psychology; Pharmacology & Toxicology; Geosciences and Cross-Field.

果冻影院 also has a high number of researchers (22) recognised in the 鈥楥ross-Field鈥� category, reflecting 果冻影院鈥檚 engagement with cross-disciplinary activity.

Professor David Price, 果冻影院 Vice-Provost (Research), said: 鈥淚nclusion in this list is a significant achievement and demonstrates those researchers鈥� global influence. It also reflects well on those professional staff across the university who have contributed to these researchers鈥� success.

听鈥淭hose named include a large number of 鈥榗ross-field鈥� researchers, reflecting our university鈥檚 excellence in cross-disciplinary research.鈥�

Now in its sixth year, the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers list identifies influential researchers as determined by their peers around the globe 鈥� scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication.

David Pendlebury, Senior Citation Analyst at the Institute for Scientific Information, which provided the data and analysis for the list, said: 鈥�The Highly Cited Researchers list contributes to the identification of that small fraction of the researcher population that significantly extends the frontiers of knowledge. These researchers create gains for society, innovation and knowledge that make the world healthier, richer, more sustainable and more secure.鈥�

One of the researchers on the list, Professor Jane Wardle, passed away in 2015. Her research and achievements are recognised here.
