Professor Rees is ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement), after serving as Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences from 2014-2022.

As ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement), Geraint is responsible for providing vision and academic leadership for ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s world-leading research, knowledge exchange and global engagement, and the functions, services and resources that support it.

Working closely with the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº President & Provost, he will provide inspirational academic leadership for ¹û¶³Ó°Ôºâ€™s research, innovation and global engagement activity, and collaborate with other VP offices and Deans to ensure that research and innovation across the university continues to be of the highest quality and sustainability, delivering positive social impact.

Geraint has held a number of roles at ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº, including Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor of Cognitive Neurology, Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Pro-Provost (Academic Planning) and Pro-Vice-Provost (AI). He is a non-executive Director of ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Business, one of the UK’s most successful technology transfer companies, and was a Senior Scientific Advisor at DeepMind from 2018-2020.Ìý
