Student Psychological and Counselling Services

We are dedicated to helping 果冻影院 students with personal, emotional and psychological concerns. Our service is free to undergraduate and postgraduate students registered at 果冻影院. If you are a Doctoral/PhD student,听please access support via the Spectrum.Life Assistance Programme.

To access this service, you need to be registered with a General Practitioner, also known as a GP. If you are not yet registered with a GP doctor, please see below.

TERM 3 UPDATE听

During Term 3 all final year undergraduate students are being offered Single Session Therapy, a highly focused method for addressing your most pressing concern in one听session.

By offering Single Session Therapy, we听ensure we can provide support听to as many people听as possible before听their time as a student at 果冻影院 comes to an end.

Waiting times for counselling

Our waiting time for an initial appointment after registering is two to three weeks. This can sometimes rise in times of high demand. If we feel you are at higher risk, you will be prioritised.

All students are triaged within 24 hours of registering听with SPCS. During triaging, if we feel you may be at higher risk,听we听will contact you听by phone, email and/or text.

Crisis support

Student Support and Wellbeing does not offer emergency support.

If you're听in immediate danger of hurting yourself听or others:

  • Go directly to the听Accident & Emergency (A&E)听department of听听to get help
  • Call听999听to request an ambulance if you are unable to reach the hospital yourself

If you're feeling distressed and need urgent support:

  • Contact your GP surgery to request an emergency appointment
  • If your GP surgery isn't open, call the free NHS out-of-hours medical line on听111听for help accessing the right services
  • You can call the听听on听116 123听to talk to someone at any time, day or night
  • 听are a listening service for students, by students - they're available overnight via live web chat 6pm - 2am
