Training programme for Cancer Institute researchers

All students have a primary supervisor, a secondary supervisor and a thesis committee for individual subject training and support throughout.

During your first year you attend a cancer training programme to understand the key cancer science issues. This covers areas such as:

  • Human Tissue Act and the Biobank
  • Tissue Preparation and Staining
  • Basics of Proteomics
  • Principles of Good Clinical Lab Practice
  • Clinical Trial Design and Regulation
  • In vivo Study Design and Regulation
  • Preclinical Radiotherapy
  • Single Cell Analysis

For personal development, you will be under ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's Doctoral School and take part in their development training programme.

If you have advanced queries about any of the above techniques, Translational Technology Platforms drop-in sessions are available to Principal Investigators, Postdocs, technicians and research students.Â
