Spring break 2024 - support and services

Between Terms 2 and 3, ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº will be closed from 5:30pm on Wednesday 27 March 2024 to 9:00am on Thursday 4 April 2024. You still have access to plenty of support during this period.

Details of all support, facilities and services available to you over the break are listed below.

Mental health and wellbeing support

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº 24/7 Student Support Line is a free, confidential wellbeing service available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.Ìý

Appointments with Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing

Disability, Mental Health andÌýWellbeing will be closed for pre-booked andÌýsame-day appointmentsÌýfrom 5:30pm on Wednesday 27 March 2024 to 9:00am on Thursday 4 April 2024. The team will be operating on a limited rota during the closure.

During this time, the team will be checking and responding to urgent enquiries sent via ask¹û¶³Ó°Ôº.ÌýWe will not have a phone service or any in-person services.Ìý

Due to reduced capacity, it may take us slightly longer than usual to respond to enquiries.ÌýTo inform us of a student of concern, please complete our student of concern form.

Facilities andÌýsupport on campus

¹û¶³Ó°Ôº halls

If you are staying in ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº halls over the closure period, you will have access to the same support as usual from your team ofÌýStudent Residence Advisers (SRAs).ÌýSomeone from the team will be available throughout this timeÌýif you need assistance.

In an emergency, contact the ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Security Control Room onÌý+44 (0)20 7679 3333 or ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº ext 33333 on an internal phone.ÌýAlternatively, use theÌýSafeZone appÌý(press the blue button for Security). Security areÌýavailable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Ìý

For hall events and activities, keep an eye out for posters in your hall, speak to your SRAs or visit theÌýFlourish calendar.

Library services

TheÌýStudent CentreÌýwill remain open 24/7 throughout the break. You can continue to access a wide range of online resources 24/7, and view the Library opening hours.

Bloomsbury Fitness

Bloomsbury FitnessÌýisÌý¹û¶³Ó°Ôº's on-campus gym. forÌýup-to-date opening hours.

To support your mental and physical health, join in with free Project Active sessions running through .

Security

Security officers will continue to be present on campus 24 hours a day throughout the closure period. Please speak to them for any security-related issues.

Health care

GP supportÌý

GP surgeries may be operating in different hours over the closureÌýperiod. Please check with your local surgery if you are unsure.Ìý

For UK students returning home for the break, remember that you may need to complete a temporary resident form to book an appointment with your local GP.


Other support and servicesÌý

Student Psychological and Counselling Services

Student Psychological and Counselling Services will be closed during the break.Ìý ÌýPlease note that the Student Psychological and Counselling Services registration form will be closed from 3.00pm on Friday 23 March and will reopen at 9.00am on Monday 8ÌýApril.

Study Abroad

If you are a student currently studying abroad, and you require emergency assistance, please contact your travel insurance provider on the emergency number +44 (0)1273 456 463.

If you will be staying in your placement over all or part of the closureÌýperiod, don’t forget that you can contact the Global Student Assistance Programme for advice. The service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, provides independent, impartial support and guidance on a wide variety of legal, financial and personal matters.Ìý

Staff in the Student Enquiries Centre team will continue to respond to enquiries submitted through ask¹û¶³Ó°Ôº during the break. Please note, however, that this will be at reduced capacity, so it may take slightlyÌýlonger than usual toÌýreceive a reply.

Faith support

The ¹û¶³Ó°Ôº Chaplain and Interfaith Adviser, Rev Reid Humble, has limited availability throughout the break because it is also Holy Week and Easter. If you would like to speak to him about about any issues surrounding faith or religious belief, you are encouraged to make contact before the closure period begins to make arrangements.
